TINCKNELL BACK IN ELMS ACTION WITH JOTA SPORT FOR AUSTRIAN ENCOUNTER
2014 race runner-up Harry aiming high at Red Bull Ring
Harry Tincknell returns to LM P2 sportscar action when the Nissan NISMO factory driver races for JOTA Sport in the third round of the European Le Mans Series on Sunday (12 July).
Tincknell re-joins Simon Dolan and Filipe Albuquerque in JOTA's Gibson-Nissan for the Four Hours of Red Bull Ring after making his race debut in the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO at the Le Mans 24 Hours last month (13-14 June).
Harry, along with Dolan and Albuquerque, has posted second (Silverstone) and third (Imola) placings in the two opening ELMS races. The 23-year-old Briton also helped JOTA Sport achieve an LM P2 class victory in the FIA World Endurance Championship encounter at Spa-Francorchamps in May.
Tincknell has spent time relaxing since Le Mans but recently attended a corporate day at Goodwood for JOTA and was at Silverstone to watch the British Grand Prix last weekend (5 Jul). The Four Hours of Red Bull Ring is due to start at 1230 (BST) on Sunday.
Harry says:
"It'll be great to get back racing. After contesting my maiden race for the Nissan NISMO LM P1 team, it's a return to ELMS action with JOTA Sport and attempting to score our first win of 2015 in the series and if not victory, then securing valuable points. Contesting the Le Mans 24 Hours with Nissan was obviously a great experience it was a massive achievement to get the GT-R LM NISMO home to the finish. My feedback and consistency is continually improving which can only help me for the remainder of the WEC season.
"However, next weekend I'm totally focussed on the Red Bull Ring with JOTA. I cannot wait to climb back in to the 'Mighty 38'. For me it's one of the best tracks on the ELMS calendar and should suit the Gibson very well. We were a close second there last year and I'm very motivated to go one better this time around. In the corresponding race last year I qualified on pole and brought the car in from the lead of the race. I had some good results previously in Formula Three so I know my form is good round there.

Comments: "The Red Bull Ring is a great circuit for racing because the layout promotes a lot of overtaking. Turns two and three are really good passing opportunities and they come off the back of long straights where you can slipstream your rivals. I really like the two fast lefts in the middle of the lap too. A lot of time through this section can be gained if you are brave. The last sector is also high speed but you have to be very precise which means mistakes can be made that again promotes good racing."
